Information Architecture

Information architecture (IA) encompasses the way information is structured and labelled on a website.

In order to support users in finding information on your site it is crucial that the IA is designed in the way that users expect. Optimum.web provide a range of services to explore and improve IA, using recruited users from your actual target audience groups, to ensure that your site is both intuitive and easy to comprehend.

Card sorting is just one of the IA services that optimum.web specialise in. These sorting sessions involve users splitting items of content on a given site (names of which are written on cards) into logical or relevant groups. Labels for groups may also be established giving a true insight into the terminology users understand and expect. Optimum.web have experience in both closed and open card sorts – which may be applied to different stages of a web project.

For all information archtecture studies, optimum.web’s final structural recommendation is based on analysis and interpretation of both the statistical, e.g. cluster analysis, and the qualitative data, ensuring all pertinent factors are recognised.
